BOOK: Dance Into Destiny

Where did all start? What initiated this purpose shift?

In the past, I’ve been an avid reader. I love books. I have shelves of books, boxes of books in my storage unit, books adorn the top of my chester, books on my nightstand and in the dresser draws of my nightstand. I’m flooded with books on books on books (my book version of “racks on racks on racks”… LOL!).

In 2009, I was introduced to the author Sherri Lewis through her writing of Dance Into Destiny. This book was the initial trigger for me in my pursuit of my purpose, my passion, my joy. Her main character…. Keeva Banks “is in danger of flunking out of grad school—again. She can’t seem to get it together because, honestly, she doesn’t really know why she’s in school.” The main character was in desperate need of a sense of purpose to give meaning to her life. Every thing about this character, I was able to relate to.

I was honored to meet the author at the Faith and Fiction Writers Retreat during the summer of 2010. Miss Lewis shared so much knowledge on writing and being inspired to write. In addition, she announced her pending move to Africa, pursuing her passion and purpose, to start up her ministry. Leaving a medical profession to follow her purpose, pursue her passion.

PURPOSE… That’s what I’ve been searching for and I’m still searching today. I know I’m meant to do something more than what I am doing now.
