Seven rules for personal happiness and success in life.

7 is my favorite number and I love goal planning lists. When I obtained today’s blog picture from a Facebook post, I had to save it. First, it gives 7 rules–the number 7 ROCKS. Second, I love the message of each rule. And finally, the list of rules can be applied to any sector of your life–home, career, raising kids, relationships, friendships, etc.

Seven basic keys to personal happiness.

Seven basic keys to happiness.

The colorful and wonderful list offers knowledge (information) and wisdom (application of rules) to implement and impact our lives. Reading the list over and over, each rule is equally important because of the impact the rules would have on us. The key rule I would highlight to everyone:

#4 No One Is The Reason For Your Own HAPPINESS, except you yourself.

Translation: stop looking to others for your own happiness.

We can place great expectations on others to fill the voids, needs, and/or attention that should be given to our own selves. When we place high expectations and great demands on others for our own happiness, we’re placing our happiness in their control. Moreover, those great expectations and demands can strain those relationships or cause others to back away. As a result, we’ll find ourselves disappointed in the end.

Take the choke-hold off–the expectations and demands–placed on others and seek the happiness we deserve from ourselves. Lets create healthy relationships and create our own happiness.

Loving the cardinal rules in life,

So funny how the things we need reminded off most or affirmation of find us at just the right moment. I recently came to terms with #4 and am so much better off for it! Words can’t even describe my excitement and joy that have occurred since accepting that rule unconditionally.
