Adjusting Sails

Life is all about change – shifting seasons – that we experience until we take our last breath. We can’t avoid those changes that occur – in your relationships, career, community, etc – because the only thing constant in life is change/shifts. However, there are valuable lessons we can learn from life changes – shifts – and make the appropriate adjustments to those changes. It’s about our actions (adjustments) and not our reactions (fear, anger, frustration, sadness) to the shifts in life.

“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.” —William Arthur Ward

For the first time, I’m adjusting with the shifts in my life and I am longer falling back into my comfort zone. Whenever I’ve been challenged in life or changes have taken place, I would resort back to my comfort zone. This time, I refuse to go back. I have to learn the lessons in this season I’m experiencing. My first adjustment: starting this blog. It has been my way to inspire others AND myself! To encourage others who may be experiencing challenging times – changes and/or shifts – in their lives. To let others know you are not alone. To breath, to release, to express, to vent, to flow, to learn, to gain wisdom and insight… Those are my adjustments.

How are you adjusting your sails? Are you running back to your “hiding place” -aka- comfort zone? Or are you rolling up your sleeves, providing all hands on deck and putting in the work to adjust the sails?

Be blessed and be a blessing,

Fight. Finish. Faith. (2 Timothy 4:7 NKJV)

Yet, another great thought, message, post! I am on the other side of adjusting my sails, shifting and not falling back into my comfort zone. So far, so good! I’m enjoying the ride.
